About The Position

Warner Bros. Discovery is offering multiple Documentary internship opportunities in the NYC area for Fall 2026. These internships are designed to provide students with real-world experience in the documentary field. Interns will be expected to work in the office on a regular cadence based on their manager's schedule. Example opportunities include The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper Intern.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in long-form journalism
  • Able to function well in fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong interest in documentaries
  • Spreadsheet and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willing to work with a team and independently
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft
  • Familiarity with MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize deliverables/projects with competing deadlines
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or rising Senior undergrad student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and will not require work visa sponsorship
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible

Responsibilities

  • Gathering video
  • Preparing and organizing interviews for transcription
  • Organizing visual elements
  • Research, writing coverage, and drafting decks & loglines, including a special semester-long development initiative
  • Screening and writing coverage for documentary films
  • Experience pitch meetings first-hand
  • Support the department in administration upkeep by maintaining the organization of departmental tracking systems
  • Research and various projects including a semester-long development project
  • Assist the Production Executives with their creative needs
  • Learn how to build pitch decks, write loglines and show descriptions
  • Organize and track internal and external ideas in all phases of development
  • Present a series ideas for their intern project
