About The Position

Under the direction of the Survey & Statistical Consultant, this position provides support in the collection, organization, and preparation of data for statistical analysis and reporting. The incumbent assists with survey administration, data management, and the preparation of tables, charts, and reports. This position ensures the accuracy and consistency of data handling and contributes to the university’s planning, assessment, and accountability processes by providing dependable technical and administrative assistance.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Strong knowledge of research techniques, including methods for gathering, compiling, and analyzing research data.
  • Solid foundation in statistical procedures and principles.
  • Working proficiency in desktop word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Experience using survey and evaluation tools (preferably Qualtrics) and qualitative analysis software such as Dedoose or NVivo.
  • Skilled in performing basic statistical analyses using computer-based programs like SAS or SPSS.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible information, including effectively training faculty.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and foster a customer service–oriented approach.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, demonstrating professionalism, inclusivity, and strong interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

Nice To Haves

  • Statistical experience preferred.
  • Experience with qualitative software such as Dedoose and survey software such as Qualtrics is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with statistical and qualitative data support for faculty and graduate students including design, data preparation, analysis and web-based surveys.
  • Provide clerical and technical support in preparing statistical summaries, visualizations, and reports under the direction of the Statistical Consultant.
  • Assist in aggregating statistical web access information Qualtrics, Campus Software, Canvas and other databases.
  • Assist and support the SPOT administration when needed.
