About The Position

The Office of the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean (OVPAD) at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) provides strategic oversight of academic policy and champions the integrity and innovation of UTM’s academic programs. The office supports the academic mission of UTM's nineteen departments and institutes by fostering inclusive pedagogy, advancing experiential learning, upholding academic integrity, and supporting faculty recruitment, tenure, and promotion. This role, situated within the Academic Operations portfolio, reports to the Associate Director, Academic Planning & Policy and supports multiple areas within OVPAD. The position will provide administrative, project, data, and report support for processes such as course planning, enrollment monitoring, faculty complement planning, quality assurance reviews, and course evaluations. Additionally, it will offer project support for institutional academic policy reviews and web content. The Research Analyst will support senior leadership including the Vice-Dean, Undergraduate, Vice-Dean, Faculty, Vice-Dean, Academic Programs, Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning, and Assistant Dean.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years related experience in an administrative and/or educational environment.
  • Experience using institutional data dashboards and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) to analyze enrolment, course planning and/or academic planning data.
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations and briefing materials for senior academic administrators.
  • Experience interpreting and applying academic policies, procedures and regulations within a post-secondary environment.
  • Experience supporting academic human resources processes, including faculty appointments, tenure, promotion, leaves and/or complement planning.
  • Experience supporting academic planning, policy, curriculum and/or institutional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting policy review processes within a post-secondary institution.
  • Experience with/knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint etc.

Responsibilities

  • Collating and organizing data for various reports; generating reports
  • Relaying and/or gathering information from senior leadership

  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
