About The Position

The student will help with the production and transport of isotopes with the new N=126 Factory, using GRAZING calculations. These isotopes will be delivered to the CPT for precision mass measurements of nuclei of interest for astrophysics. The student will also be responsible for helping to set up and execute experiments with the CPT. As part of this work, the student will help to design, assemble, test, and use various components of the ion trap experiments, including hands-on work and computer-aided design and analysis.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must complete a satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities
