About The Position

This role involves advanced rescue techniques and equipment for various situations including high hoists, confined areas, elevated platforms, off-center hoists, water rescue, and boat operations. The specialist will participate in day and night operations, often in adverse weather conditions, and act as an observer. Responsibilities include packaging and handling patients/survivors, assisting flight paramedics with patient care, post-flight decontamination of the helicopter, and maintaining rescue equipment. The position also requires participation in Safety Management System (SMS) activities to promote a safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced rescue techniques and operate specialized equipment.
  • Conduct rescue operations in diverse environments including high hoists, confined areas, elevated platforms, water, and boat operations.
  • Participate in rescue operations during day and night, in adverse weather conditions.
  • Act as an observer as required.
  • Package and handle patients/survivors from the scene into the helicopter.
  • Assist flight paramedics in patient care or render care based on medical certification.
  • Perform post-flight decontamination of the helicopter.
  • Inventory, inspect, and perform minor maintenance on rescue equipment, devices, and aviation life support equipment.
  • Deploy rescue equipment as required.
  • Assist with ground rescue operations.
  • Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities, support safety culture, report safety issues, and adhere to SMS goals.
