Requirements Manager

APM TerminalsElizabeth, NJ
Onsite

About The Position

The Project Requirements Manager supports the delivery of the Port Elizabeth Upgrade Project by facilitating and embedding requirements management best practices, particularly in the areas of requirement identification, capture, verification & validation, and requirement control systems. The role acts as the administrator and process owner for the project's requirements management tool (e.g., Relatics), ensuring seamless collaboration across project disciplines and clear traceability between project requirements and deliverables. This role is instrumental in ensuring the project is executed in line with customer and stakeholder needs, through structured processes, traceable documentation, and continuous assurance of design and execution quality. The Port Elizabeth Upgrade Project APM Terminals and the Port of New York and New Jersey have recently reached an agreement to extend the lease for APM Terminals Elizabeth through 2062, enabling significant long-term infrastructure investments that will enhance capacity, improve transport velocity, create jobs, and strengthen the regional economy. As part of this commitment, APM Terminals will invest substantially in upgrading its 345-acre facility, including enhancing cargo-handling capabilities and ensuring the replacement and ongoing maintenance of all wharf and berth structures. These efforts align with the Port Authority’s Port Master Plan 2050, which anticipates cargo volumes could double or even triple by mid-century. Looking ahead, APM Terminals Elizabeth envisions a larger, more efficient, and future-ready container terminal, with planned upgrades focused on optimizing terminal layout, electrifying container handling equipment, and modernizing container berths to support long-term growth. Appetizer: At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating.
