About The Position

The Bureau of Maternal, Child, and Family Health (BMCFH) is organized to support families by improving birth outcomes and the health status of women, infants, children, and youth, including children and youth with complex health care needs. Using data and proven practice, the bureau’s programs support the delivery of direct services, linkages and referrals, population-based supports, program evaluation, education, monitoring and quality oversight, and policy and systems development. Requirements

  • 4 yrs. exp. in planning & administering health program(s), with experience to be commensurate with approved position description on file.
  • OR Completion of graduate core program in field of public health, health administration, preventive medicine, social work, nursing or other health-related field, or public policy & management/public administration or business administration AND 12 mos. exp. in planning & administering health program(s), with education & experience to be commensurate with approved position description on file.
  • OR 12 mos. exp. as Health Planning Administrator 1, 65245, with experience to be commensurate with approved position description on file.

Responsibilities

  • Lead statewide reproductive health and wellness programs including family planning and sexual risk reduction initiatives to improve health outcomes across Ohio.
  • Develop and implement program policies, strategic plans, and performance measures to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Direct grant funded-programs, including oversight of budgets, funding opportunities, grant applications, reporting and program evaluation activities.
  • Manage relationships with local providers, community partners, and stakeholders to support effective service delivery and program performance.
  • Oversee program monitoring activities, including site visits, clinical reviews, expenditure tracking, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to program staff, including coaching, performance managements, employee development.
  • Analyze program data and trends to support strategic planning, performance measurement, and evidence-based decision making.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with federal agencies, state partners, healthcare organizations, and community stakeholders on program initiatives and compliance matters.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects, stakeholder meetings, and collaborative efforts to strengthen statewide public health services and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership regarding program performance, emerging health trends and policy impacts.
  • Monitor changes in federal and state laws, regulations and funding requirements to ensure program compliance and operational effectiveness.
