About The Position

This role involves advocating for individuals, managing their financial accounts, and completing various applications and forms for government benefits and services. The Representative Payee will be responsible for intake, filing applications with Social Security, managing individual accounts, and filling out reports for local assistance offices. This includes applications for employment, housing, utilities, and specific programs like SNAP, LIHEAP, and PCAP. The position also requires setting up financial tools like True Link Cards and direct deposit, securing paystubs, and assisting with audits. Additionally, the role may involve receptionist duties, coordinating nursing home placements, managing client budgets, writing checks, reconciling bank accounts, and setting up burial accounts. The Representative Payee will also work with landlords and providers, complete housing assessments, manage rent rebates, and coordinate services like extermination. Regular client meetings, collaboration with other agencies, income verification, and assisting families with benefit-related questions are also key responsibilities. All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for individuals
  • Intake new individuals
  • File applications with Social Security for new individuals
  • Manage individual accounts/files/ledgers
  • Fill out forms for Social Security
  • Fill out reports for Crawford County Assistance Office (Waiver Renewal Benefits, SNAP benefits, LiHEAP and medical assistance)
  • Fill out applications for employment, housing and section 8 renewal
  • Fill out applications for the Salvation Army and Food Bank
  • Fill out forms for Pennsylvania Customer Assistance Program (PCAP) and (Low Income Rate Assistance) LIRA
  • Set up utilities, True Link Cards, and direct deposit for employment and benefits
  • Secure paystubs for Social Security
  • Assist in the completion of Disability and Social Security audits
  • Fill in for the Receptionist
  • Find nursing home placement when needed
  • Coordinate vacation plans with individuals
  • Complete renewals for identification cards, Medicare, Social Security, and other government forms
  • Set up budgets for each client
  • Write checks for spending money and bills
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Set up irrevocable burial accounts and funeral pre-planning
  • Work with landlords and providers on behalf of the individuals
  • Complete paperwork for housing assessment damage to apartment before and after move in/move out
  • Open and close accounts
  • Set up payment arrangements for fines and medical bills
  • File paperwork with the state of Pennsylvania when a client passes away
  • File rent rebates and gather documentation for tax returns
  • Assist in coordinating extermination of individuals’ residence, including payments
  • Attend quarterly meetings and meet with individuals as needed
  • Work with other provider agencies and Support Coordinators
  • Verify income forms with Crawford County Human Services
  • Assist families with questions regarding forms for Social Security and Crawford County Assistance Office
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
