About The Position

Under the supervision of the Patient Relations Manager or Supervisor, the Patient Relations Representative is responsible for creating a welcoming, supportive, and positive experience for patients, families, and visitors at UF Health Jacksonville and UF Health North hospitals and clinics. This role serves as a liaison between patients, families, visitors, and healthcare staff to promote effective communication and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of customer service experience required.
  • Basic personal computer experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree and/or proficiency in a foreign language preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Serve as a resource for patients and visitors by providing information regarding hospital services, amenities, resources, and navigation throughout the facility.
  • Assist patients with arrival and registration processes, including the use of Welcome Kiosks in the Emergency Department and pre-registration activities in Pre-Admissions areas.
  • Support patients and visitors accessing UF Health hospitals, clinics, and affiliated entities.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, healthcare providers, and support departments to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Proactively identify and assist in resolving concerns, complaints, or service issues.
  • Monitor and manage lobby and waiting room areas to address patient and visitor needs and maintain a welcoming environment.
  • Coordinate services and provide support during challenging situations, including crisis intervention and referral to appropriate community resources when needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient-centered care and service excellence.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with patients, families, visitors, and staff.
