The Patient Access Representative I gathers patient demographic and financial information and enters it into the computer system. This role involves assigning patient rooms, preparing necessary documentation, and transporting or escorting patients to their assigned areas. Key responsibilities include obtaining appropriate signatures, answering telephones, managing bed assignments, ordering stat cleans, and communicating with the house supervisor. The representative also informs patients about hospital regulations, secures armbands, obtains signatures on documents, and determines the need for hospital-issued Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN waiver). They are responsible for meeting and greeting patients, scanning all required information such as physician orders, drivers' licenses, insurance cards, and consents, and pre-registering scheduled tests. Adherence to all safety, infection control, colleague health policies, HIPAA, and EMTALA regulations is mandatory. This position is located at the Women's and Outpatient area, serving patients for Surgery, Outpatient Clinic, Wound Clinic, and Breast Clinic check-ins.
