About The Position

The Prenatal Reporting Clinical Laboratory Scientist (RCLS) contractor performs high-complexity clinical laboratory data analysis, reviews and interprets molecular diagnostic and sequencing results, and ensures accurate, reliable, and timely patient-result reporting in accordance with laboratory procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. The RCLS independently executes validated bioinformatics pipelines, evaluates analytical results and quality control metrics, troubleshoots issues, and reviews and releases clinical reports within established authorization and reporting procedures. Complex or unusual results may require collaboration with Bioinformatics, Laboratory Directors, and other clinical personnel. The role also provides technical leadership through scientific judgment, investigation of complex analytical issues, guidance and training for colleagues, and identification of process improvements. The RCLS collaborates with Laboratory Operations, Bioinformatics, Quality Assurance Management, Genetic Counselors, Laboratory Directors, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and support efficient laboratory workflows. The position requires attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication, initiative, accountability, adaptability, and the ability to manage competing priorities independently and collaboratively. This is a hybrid role requiring approximately 60% on-site presence at the Union City and/or Menlo Park offices: three days per week on-site and two days per week remote. The target hourly rate is $65.
