About The Position

Waterdown Collision, a family-run Collision Repair Facility with 50 years of service, is expanding to a new, state-of-the-art 30,000 sq ft facility. They are seeking an enthusiastic Repair Planner to join their growing team. The Repair Planner will be responsible for ensuring clients receive excellent customer service while balancing company profitability, supporting the collision shop, and achieving customer satisfaction. This role involves using AI-assisted tools for resume review, but all hiring decisions are made directly by the team and client.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct experience as a repair planner/estimator or in a senior collision estimating role
  • Proficiency with Mitchell Cloud Estimating and Qapter
  • Working proficiency with Bodyshop Connect, Collision Link, Partsbridge, and Parts Kick
  • Knowledge of collision repair operations including estimating, production scheduling, and meeting repair deadlines
  • Familiarity with insurance repair procedures and guidelines
  • Experience coordinating with insurance representatives, production staff, customer service staff, and clients on repair status and approvals
  • Experience negotiating repair times with insurance representatives
  • Experience handling client concerns and dissatisfaction in a customer-facing setting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • English proficiency sufficient for professional verbal and written communication
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Handle appraisals, repair orders and supplements from start to finish
  • Produce complete, thorough, and accurate collision damage appraisals according to the appropriate insurance company (or other referral source) guidelines using the proper electronic estimating software, which meet or exceed company gross profit goals
  • Upload initial, supplement, and final bills as necessary to the insurance company
  • Ensure ongoing communication with insurance partners, production staff and customer service specialists.
  • Negotiate with insurance company representatives in a polite and courteous manner at all times when discussing subjective repair times necessary to meet the company’s gross profit goals
  • Maintain a specific gross profit percentage on all ROs on all jobs (as communicated by the general manager)
  • Participate in daily release meetings in order to provide key information to managerial staff
  • Participate in weekly company meetings and be willing to attend training programs to enhance performance both, personally and professionally
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment in which to work that reflects the excellent working conditions of the company
  • Work to resolve any client concerns or dissatisfaction.
  • Cultivate a positive working relationship with team members and management.
  • Communicate and document repair status to clients and insurance partners.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
