About The Position

Woodward is looking to bring on skilled, motivated and driven individuals to join our team as a Repair & Overhaul Technicians. These positions are on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:30pm – 11:00pm) and are located are our Loves Park Campus, where innovation, precision, and quality are at the heart of everything we do. This role will provide support and operations in products such as servo valves, actuators, fuel metering units, specialty valves or pumps. Training shift will be on 1st shift, Mon-Fri, 7am - 3:30pm, for the first 2 weeks. Week 3 training shift could be on 1st or 2nd. Interested candidates must be flexible for upwards of 3 months to be able to train on an alternative training schedule.

Requirements

  • Understands and follows basic technical instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Evaluates product and determines component replacement needs for low-complexity product.
  • Identifies gap-to-standard and resolves or escalates them per standard processes/procedures.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Can tear down, assemble and test products.
  • Uses hand tools and basic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Completes basic changeovers and setups.
  • Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors to support workflow and escalate immediate issues.
  • Adherence to Woodward's Core Values.
  • Effectively manages time to complete assigned tasks within established schedules.

  • Must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • Teardown, Assembly and Test Product: Follows documented procedures to accurately and efficiently teardown, assemble and test product using specified tools and equipment.
  • Process: Coordinates with appropriate members and cross-functional teams to perform analysis, investigation, work scope of product.
  • Quality: Conducts inspections and tests to verify the accuracy and functionality of products and records and maintains data per operating standards.
  • Organization & Cleanliness: Adheres to 5S principles by keeping workstations clean, organized, and free of unnecessary items. Follows established guidelines to ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Safety Mindset: Adheres to all established safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements; maintains mindfulness of self and surrounding work area to promote a safe working environment.
  • Teardown, Assembly and Test Product: Follows documented procedures to accurately and efficiently teardown, assemble and test product using specified tools and equipment, solves problems with known outcomes to meet standards, supports training of other members, and provides improvement opportunities to standard work.
  • Process: Coordinates with appropriate members and cross-functional teams to perform analysis, investigation, work scope of product. Supports training of other members.
  • Quality Control: Participates to improve clarity and accuracy in documented processes and procedures.
  • Organization & Cleanliness: Proactively applies 5S principles, identifies opportunities to improve workstation organization and cleanliness, and ensures compliance with team standards. Assists in implementing new organizational practices as directed.
