This hands-on role involves starting and operating engines, monitoring performance, identifying issues, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and verifying engines meet quality and performance requirements before delivery to customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of mechanical, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial repair experience preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of industrial engine assembly.
  • Ability to lift a minimum weight of 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform start-up and operational testing of completed industrial engines.
  • Monitor engine performance, including temperatures, pressures, speeds, vibrations, and other operating parameters.
  • Follow test procedures, service manuals, drawings, and engineering instructions.
  • Utilize computer-based systems to monitor, record, and document engine test data.
  • Inspect engines before, during, and after testing for leaks, abnormal noises, vibration, or other issues.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and engine performance problems.
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs as needed to achieve proper engine operation.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and measuring tools to verify engine performance and component condition.
  • Document test results, defects, repairs, and final engine performance.
  • Work closely with engineering, assembly, and repair teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain test equipment, tooling, and a clean and safe work environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing procedures, reliability, and overall engine quality.
