Repair Coordinator

SulzerSanta Fe Springs, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Sulzer's Los Angeles Service Center (LASC) is hiring a Repair Coordinator to own the execution of pump repair jobs from order entry through final delivery. This is a central role that bridges Sales, the Shop, Engineering, Quality, and the customer — making sure scope, schedule, documentation, and communication stay aligned on every job in our backlog. You will manage a portfolio of active repair orders for centrifugal pumps (BB1–BB5, OH, VS) serving power generation, refining, water, and industrial customers across the Western U.S. The role is high-visibility, fast-paced, and well-supported by experienced Sales Reps, Shop Leads, and Engineering.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in repair shop coordination, project coordination, customer service in industrial services, or a related operations role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; comfortable interfacing directly with industrial customers (procurement, reliability, and maintenance contacts).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment — pumps, compressors, motors, or other rotating equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and BOMs.
  • Strong organizational discipline: able to manage 15–30+ concurrent jobs at different stages without losing track of commitments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Prior experience in an ISO 9001-certified repair shop or service center.
  • Familiarity with API 610 / API 682 and customer specifications common in oil and gas, power, and water markets.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned repair jobs end-to-end: order entry, scope confirmation, inspection reporting, repair execution tracking, final documentation, and on-time delivery.
  • Build and issue technical proposals (inspection reports, repair quotes, supplementary scope) using the LASC standard template, in coordination with the assigned Sales Representative.
  • Coordinate daily with Shop Leads and the Service Center Superintendent on job scheduling, resource allocation, parts availability, and execution priorities.
  • Manage customer communication on job status, inspection findings, photos, scope changes, and revised delivery dates; schedule and confirm customer Witness and Hold Points.
  • Maintain accurate job data in SAP — order status, milestones, hours, materials, costs, and delivery dates — and support backlog reviews and forecasting.
  • Compile and harmonize inspection documentation: BOMs, dimensional reports, photo packages, NDE results, and final repair reports for customer delivery.
  • Coordinate with Engineering on technical clarifications, non-standard repairs, and engineered solutions.
  • Support Quality (ISO 9001) and EHS (ISO 14001 / 45001) procedures across the jobs you own; participate in nonconformity tracking and corrective actions when applicable.
  • Coordinate logistics: inbound equipment receipt, parts procurement follow-up, and outbound shipping to the customer.
