About The Position

The Repair Center Technician 2 is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and maintaining electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment, including printed circuit boards (PCBs) at the component level. This role supports operational reliability through technical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, equipment setup, and accurate documentation. The technician ensures high‑quality repair standards and collaborates with internal teams to maintain equipment performance and system uptime. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 1–2 years of related experience in an electronics-related industry.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment, including component‑level PCB troubleshooting.
  • Must have through-hole and surface mount component soldering skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of ESD‑safe practices and controlled work environments.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in hectic and noisy environments.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, and ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment, including component‑level issues on PCBs.
  • Operate electronic test equipment to perform operational, functional, and environmental testing on assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
  • Replace defective components or parts and verify proper operation through re‑testing.
  • Reads and interprets complex schematics, part/wire lists, test procedures, engineering manuals, work orders, and customer specifications.
  • Set up electronic systems, devices, and test configurations to support troubleshooting and validation activities.
  • Calibrate, align, and adjust circuitry using precision instruments and hand tools.
  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on electronic systems
  • Install, upgrade, modify, or replace equipment as directed.
  • Monitor automated trouble‑reporting systems and track repair progress to ensure timely resolution of equipment issues.
  • Accurately document all testing, maintenance, and repair actions, including findings and system performance data in service management tools (e.g. ServiceNow).
  • Maintain an organized bench stock of tools, components, supplies, and repair kits to support operations.
  • May go into the field to provide on-site technical support as needed.
