About The Position

Repair and Tool Technicians evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. They make equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained. Technicians work in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers.

In stores, technicians serve Tool Rental customers by preparing rental contracts and repair invoices, checking that tools operate properly, and demonstrating their use when needed. They also handle the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. At non-store locations, technicians repair units, test repair quality, and clean equipment before returning it to the originating store. Technicians need thorough knowledge of tools and are responsible for managing tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.

• Recommend equipment and ensure units are maintained.
• Prepare customer contracts and invoices for equipment rentals and tool repairs in store Tool Rental Centers.
• Check that tools operate properly and demonstrate their proper use as needed.
• Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department.
• At non-store repair centers, test repair quality and clean repaired units before returning them to the originating store.
• Manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
