Repair and Tool Technicians evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. They make equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained. Technicians work in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers. In stores, technicians provide Tool Rental services to customers, including preparing rental contracts and invoices for equipment rentals and tool repairs, checking that tools operate properly, and demonstrating their proper use when needed. They also handle the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. At non-store locations, technicians repair units, test repair quality, and clean units before returning them to the originating store. They need thorough knowledge of tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
