About The Position

Tahoe Donner Association is hiring Rental Technicians for its Downhill Ski Resort Operations in Truckee, California. Rental Technicians help create friendly, welcoming customer experiences by checking out equipment, fitting ski and snowboard equipment, and answering guest questions. The position involves customer service, equipment preparation and maintenance, inventory tracking, shop organization, and light cleaning and snow removal. The posting describes Rental Tech I, II, and III roles and notes that both part-time and full-time seasonal opportunities are available.

Requirements

Able to work all shifts and maintain schedule flexibility, including weekends and holidays.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and multitask.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest concerns professionally.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working with people of all ages.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Experience with basic service tools.
High school diploma or equivalent, and six months to one year of related snow sports business experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of formal training, education, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties.

Skiing and snowboarding knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to customers, employees, and business partners.
Fit guests with ski boots, snowboard boots, and helmets according to manufacturer guidelines.
Review rental forms to ensure guest height, weight, and age information is correct for equipment fitting.
Set up ski and snowboard equipment according to manufacturer settings.
Ensure equipment is tuned and waxed for guest use.
Use the resort’s RTP point-of-sale system to track rental inventory in and out of the shop.
Assist customers with online product sales, arrival procedures, and questions.
Perform minor repairs and tune rental equipment and customers’ skis, as experience and training permit.
Keep the shop orderly and ensure skis, snowboards, boots, and helmets are labeled and stored properly.
Assist with light cleaning and snow removal, including shoveling and clearing walkways and paths.
Follow workplace procedures for punctuality, meals, washroom visits, and breaks.
Address guest complaints and concerns, resolve issues professionally and promptly, and seek a manager’s assistance when needed.
Wear the required uniform and appropriate workplace attire.
Successfully complete required training and tests.
