About The Position

The Rental Technician selects and fits ski and snowboard equipment for rental customers, helping guests choose appropriate equipment and ensuring it is properly adjusted and safe to use. The role includes processing rental transactions and inventory, maintaining equipment and shop organization, and providing professional customer service. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. A CORI background check is required before hiring.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Skilled in providing outstanding customer service.
In-depth knowledge of equipment used in skiing and snowboarding.
Working knowledge of computers and rental software systems.
Able to count cash and perform simple mathematical functions.
Certification in DIN setting, provided by ski manufacturer Rossignol.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand, lift, and reach.
A CORI background check is required before hiring.

Responsibilities

Confirm rental forms are complete and verify the accuracy of information.
Verify that rental equipment has been paid for and lift tickets have been purchased.
Advise customers on the selection of equipment and gear.
Fit boots, skis, snowboards, poles, and helmets to customer satisfaction.
Explain how equipment works and reinforce safety techniques.
Adjust DIN settings according to the guest’s weight, height, and ability level.
Process rental equipment through the rental inventory system.
Inspect equipment before and after rentals and tag equipment needing repairs.
Track returned equipment promptly and maintain rental fleet inventory.
Prepare and organize rentals for large groups and school programs.
Disinfect boots and helmets according to manufacturer recommendations.
Process cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
Manage the till, count starting cash, and prepare nightly deposit bags.
Handle customer complaints professionally and diplomatically.
Keep the rental shop and storage racks neat and organized.
Answer telephone calls directed to the rental shop.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
