Rental Shop Lead
About The Position
The Rental Shop Lead is responsible for enriching the lives of our community by providing joy and freedom through exploration. This role involves renting ski and snowboard equipment to customers, supervising employees when the manager is not present, solving various guest issues, and diagnosing repairs to guest/rental equipment. The position requires excellent customer service, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and problem-solving skills aligned with Mission Ridge core values. The lead will also perform maintenance and repair work on rental equipment and assist with supply and inventory management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in an often fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor
- Ability to address and solve problems according to Mission Ridge core values
- Ability to diagnose and repair guest/rental equipment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Must be able to read reports and use the computer
- Must be able to hear well for guest and employee communication
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
- Must be able to write, type, and use touchscreens and phones

- Employee must obtain a current ski binding certifications (provided by employer)
Responsibilities
- Issue rental equipment accurately and efficiently
- Clean and adjust rental equipment
- Operate the point of sale system for all sales functions
- Follow opening and closing procedures for the department
- Communicate with guests to ensure the guest experience is consistent with Mission Ridge standards
- Assist staff members with their assigned tasks
- Assist manager with supply & inventory management
- Perform maintenance and repair work on rental equipment
- Perform tuning and repair work on guest equipment
- Supervise employees when manager is not present
- Solve various guest issues
- Diagnose repairs to guest/rental equipment
