About The Position

The Rental and Used Equipment sales Associate will ensure that Transcat Rentals' clients are successful in performing their required tests. They will also be responsible for helping to continue the rapid growth of Transcat's rental business through quoting, order placement, customer service and sales support. As a Sales Representative at Transcat, this position is pivotal in generating rental and sales revenue by soliciting and securing opportunities from both potential and existing customers. This is accomplished through phone and email interactions with customers, as well as in-person presentations and consultations showcasing Transcat’s comprehensive range of products and services.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with products in Transcat’s inventory
  • At least two (2) years of sales experience or equivalent
  • Ability to operate autonomously with minimal supervision in various settings
  • Proficient in using computers for data management, internet research, and CRM/ERP systems
  • Possession of a good driving record and a clean, insured vehicle that can accommodate at least four (4) occupants
  • Timely completion of all call reports and expense reports
  • Outstanding oral and written communication abilities for effective customer and team interactions.
  • Capable of managing multiple sales activities simultaneously, including presentations, order follow-ups, quoting, negotiations, and closing deals.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • 2-5 years of sales/customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an up-to-date list of prospects and customers. Ensure current account information is consistently updated in the company database
  • Actively pursue and nurture relationships with key equipment users, influencers, and decision-makers
  • Demonstrate an adept ability to understand customers' needs and devise solutions that Transcat can profitably rent and sell. This involves thinking creatively to offer alternatives that may not align with the customer's initial request but better serve their needs and objectives
  • Work in close harmony with the Transcat Management Team to align sales strategies and initiatives
  • Execute special projects and administrative tasks as directed.
  • Engage in call planning and preparation before calling, emailing, or visiting customers and client
  • Drive territory, customer, and account growth through increases in revenue and the acquisition of new accounts
  • Participate in industry events as required
  • This position requires travel for client meetings, industry events, and trade shows. Estimated travel 25% of the time.
