About The Position

As the Rental Rollback Driver, you will deliver and pick up rental equipment between the store and customer drop sites. You will complete pre- and post-delivery inspections, document deliveries and pickups, and familiarize customers with the equipment. The role requires safely operating an assigned single-body vehicle, such as a 10-wheel rollback, and loading and unloading a variety of equipment. You will also maintain required DOT logs, collect customer signatures, and represent Yancey Bros. Co. positively to customers and coworkers.

Requirements

• Must be at least 23 years old.
• Valid, active CDL; Class B or greater preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience driving for heavy equipment transportation, a general professional freight carrier, or heavy-duty trucking, such as a wrecker or mobile crane.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to clear driver screenings and provide information for a complete DQ file, including a Yancey-administered road test, background check and MVR with fewer than 10 points, DOT physical, and drug screen.
• Must not be disqualified from driving a CMV under 49 CFR § 383.5 or 49 CFR § 383.51.
• Ability to manage electronic log books and delivery software on electronic tablets.
• Ability to competently operate and load a variety of machines onto the assigned transport vehicle.
• Customer-service orientation and willingness to exceed expectations.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior delivery-driver experience is noted as important for success in the position.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an assigned CDL single-body vehicle, such as a 10-wheel rollback.
• Maintain a safe driving record and follow safety guidelines for driving and loading equipment, including using proper PPE.
• Maintain written and electronic DOT log books in full compliance.
• Take digital pictures of equipment before delivery.
• Safely load and unload equipment onto the assigned vehicle.
• Inspect equipment for safe operation and cleanliness before leaving the yard for delivery.
• Obtain the customer's signature on the rental contract and damage inspection sheet for more than 80% of deliveries.
• Provide customers with an overview of equipment operation upon delivery.
• Inspect equipment for customer damage and safe operation before loading it at the customer location; take digital pictures and additional pictures of obvious or suspected damage as needed.
• Provide positive customer service to coworkers and external customers while representing Yancey Bros. Co.
• Participate in the required safety program and work safely.
• Complete a Driver’s Safety Course.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
