About The Position

The Rental Rollback Delivery Driver delivers and picks up rental equipment between the store and customers’ drop sites. The driver completes pre- and post-delivery inspections, documents drop-offs and pickups, and familiarizes customers with the equipment. The role requires safe operation of a CDL-assigned single-body vehicle, such as a 10-wheel rollback, and safe loading and unloading of equipment. The driver maintains written and electronic DOT logs, uses delivery software and electronic tablets, and represents Yancey Bros. Co. positively to customers and coworkers. The position requires a valid, active CDL and at least three years of qualifying driving experience. Candidates must be at least 23 years old, able to meet driver-screening and DQ-file requirements, and capable of operating and loading a variety of machines. Requirements

Must be at least 23 years old.
Valid, active CDL; Class B or greater preferred.
At least 3 years of experience as a driver for heavy equipment transportation, a general professional freight carrier, or heavy-duty trucking such as wrecker or mobile crane work.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to clear driver screenings and provide information for a complete DQ file, including a Yancey-administered road test, background check, MVR with fewer than 10 points, DOT physical, and drug screen.
Must not be disqualified to drive a CMV under 49 CFR § 383.5 or 49 CFR § 383.51.
Ability to manage electronic log books and delivery software using electronic tablets.
Ability to operate and load a variety of machines onto the assigned transport vehicle.
Customer-service orientation and willingness to exceed expectations.
Prior delivery-driver experience.
Critical thinking, decision-making, initiative, problem-solving, and ability to lead by example.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a CDL-assigned single-body vehicle, such as a 10-wheel rollback.
Maintain a safe driving record and follow safety guidelines for operating and loading equipment, including using proper PPE.
Maintain written and electronic DOT log books in compliance.
Take digital pictures of equipment before delivery.
Safely load and unload equipment onto the assigned vehicle.
Inspect equipment for safe operation and cleanliness before leaving the yard for delivery.
Obtain the customer’s signature on the rental contract and damage inspection sheet on more than 80% of deliveries.
Provide customers with an equipment familiarization overview upon delivery.
Inspect equipment for customer damage and safe operation before loading it at the customer location.
Take digital pictures of equipment at the customer location and additional pictures of obvious or suspected customer damage.
Provide positive customer service to coworkers and external customers, representing Yancey professionally.
Participate in the required safety program and work safely.
Complete a Driver’s Safety Course.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
