About The Position

Avis Budget Group is hiring a Rental Fleet Dispatcher to coordinate the movement and availability of the rental vehicle fleet in response to customer demand. Depending on the location, duties may include inventorying vehicles, tracking vehicle status and movement, and dispatching vehicles to appropriate locations. The dispatcher communicates with internal teams and sometimes external partners to coordinate vehicle movements or transports, prepares and compiles reports, and helps ensure vehicles are available, correctly positioned, and ready for customers. The role requires regular on-site presence in Austin, Texas, and cannot be performed remotely.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Willingness to work outdoors or near a mechanical shop with a moderate noise level.
• Flexibility to work all shifts.
• Ability to type, sit, stand, walk, or move throughout the rental lot; enter and exit vehicles for prolonged periods; and drive a variety of vehicles.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work on-site; the position cannot be performed remotely.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of dispatcher, logistics, or coordination experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the movement and availability of rental vehicles to meet customer demand.
• Inventory vehicles, depending on location.
• Track vehicle status and movement.
• Dispatch vehicles to appropriate locations.
• Communicate with internal teams and, at times, external partners to coordinate vehicle movements or transports.
• Prepare and compile reports.
• Help ensure vehicles are available, positioned correctly, and ready for customers.
