The Rendering Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff and overseeing the Rendering production maintenance. This role meets the basic responsibility for the operation of the plant in the six basic areas: Production, Quality, Safety, Cost, Housekeeping, and Employee Relationship. The supervisor will pitch in and help when needed, conduct regular plant checks, ensure receiving & shipping schedules are met, give employees instructions, check quality standards, and ensure production flows are acceptable. They will also troubleshoot problems, assist maintenance in repairs, keep evaluations up to date, perform safety audits, and oversee employee training. The supervisor will review notes from the prior shift, review loading schedules, and communicate with the Rendering Superintendent about any special items or concerns. They will also talk daily with the second shift Supervisor to inform them about problems and the department's status, review HACCP and time sheets, fill out accident and near miss forms, and possess proficient computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel.
