Remedial Speech Teacher
About The Position
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ebony E. Prophet-Bullock, Ed.D., is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of Remedial Speech Teacher. This role involves establishing an environment to enhance individual growth and promote effective communication and speech-language skills, facilitating ongoing services for students with disabilities, and conducting speech-language screening and evaluations. The Speech Teacher works cooperatively with school personnel to accomplish the goals and objectives stated on IEPs. The position requires planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality speech-language services, monitoring and evaluating student progress, maintaining records and reports, enforcing Board of Education policies, regulations, and rules, maintaining school property and materials, and performing any assigned duties as deemed necessary.
Requirements
- New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled
- Knowledge of Medicaid Regulations
- Knowledge of ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology
- Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations pertaining to Speech Pathology
Nice To Haves
- New York State Licensure and Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
