About The Position

This position involves providing remedial reading and math instruction to school-age children. The role requires assessing students' needs, implementing differentiated instruction, collaborating with various stakeholders, and developing at-home learning programs. The instructor will also integrate technology, participate in professional development, and contribute to the Student Assistance Program.

Requirements

• Valid PA certification in Elementary Education required
• Valid PA certification in Reading Specialist required
• Knowledge of assessment tools: QRI 4, DIBELS Next, TOWRE, GMADE, GRADE, Reading Fluency Indicator.
• Knowledge of programs/interventions: Sonday System, Wilson Reading, RAC, Word Building, Syllasearch.
• Ability to effectively present information and articulately respond to questions from administrators, staff, parents, students, business and educational partners, and the general public.
• Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and an ability to work with limited supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability and experience in working as a member of a team.
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies.
• Current Act 114, Act 34 and Act 151 required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).
• School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.

• Highly Qualified Middle School Mathematics is preferred

Responsibilities

• Select, administer, and interpret current assessment tools for school age children to accurately identify their needs.
• Report assessment information clearly and accurately in the Non Public School database.
• Follow program guidelines for qualifying children for services, which may include Title I assessment and performance data reporting.
• Implement systematic, differentiated instruction based upon assessed needs of identified learners.
• Effectively collaborate with parents/guardians and outside professionals to offer support for the continued implementation of remedial services.
• Provide professional communications including sharing and collaboration with speech clinicians, teachers, parents, principals, counselors, and SAP Team.
• Contribute input to and make available resources for the Student Assistance Program Team members.
• Integrate technology for both professional and student use including implementation of online data forms.
• Participate in on-going professional development activities.
• Develop and establish individual at-home reading and math programs.
