Relocation Technical Services Engineer- JLL What this job involves: As a Relocation Technical Services Engineer at JLL, you'll be the hands-on technical expert who brings workplace transitions to life across your designated territory. This role combines skilled furniture installation, repair work, and move management to ensure our clients experience seamless workplace changes that keep their operations running smoothly. You'll perform furniture reconfigurations, component replacements, event setups, and minor carpentry work—all while maintaining JLL's high standards for quality and safety. What your day-to-day will look like: • Execute furniture installations, reconfigurations, and repairs including modular systems, component replacements, and workspace adjustments to meet client specifications and project timelines • Manage personnel moves and relocations by coordinating furniture placement, ensuring proper installation, and verifying that workspaces are fully functional before occupancy • Perform quality control audits and inspections across your territory, identifying deficiencies and providing detailed reports to supervisors to maintain JLL standards • Provide hands-on technical assistance, training, and troubleshooting support to facility engineers and maintenance teams to build technical capabilities across the region • Complete minor carpentry work and furniture repairs using industry-standard tools while adhering to all safety codes, regulations, and JLL procedures • Coordinate with contractors, team members, and clients to schedule work efficiently, minimize disruption to operations, and ensure exceptional customer service • Support conference services and event setup requirements, adapting quickly to last-minute changes and client needs

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in furniture installation, facilities maintenance, or related technical field
  • Proven experience in furniture installation with working knowledge of modular systems, assembly techniques, and industry-standard tools
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy furniture and equipment (up to 50+ lbs), work at heights, and perform manual labor for extended periods
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safe work practices including working at heights, confined spaces, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to read technical drawings, furniture specifications, and installation instructions
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish preferred) to effectively communicate with diverse teams and clients
  • Experience with inventory management systems and tracking furniture assets, components, and equipment
  • Knowledge of Spacestor furniture management systems and processes
  • Industry certifications such as OSHA safety training, furniture installer certification, or related technical credentials
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work order tracking, documentation, and reporting
  • Experience with modular furniture systems (Steelcase preferred)
  • Background in carpentry, millwork, or construction trades with demonstrable hands-on skills
