About The Position

Animal Emergency Center of Yorktown Virginia is GROWING and looking to add an emergency veterinarian to their four DVM team. They are a privately owned clinic dedicated to providing state-of-the-art emergency & critical care for small animals & some exotic pets. They offer laser therapy, hospitalization, bloodwork (Abaxis blood machine), and most emergency surgeries. They are looking for Relief Veterinarians who are compassionate, team players and strong communicators experienced in Emergency Medicine. The available shifts are Wednesday and Thursday overnights (6PM-8AM or 4PM to Midnight) and Saturday and Sunday day shift (8AM-6PM).

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
• Active veterinary state license
• Experience in Emergency Medicine
• Compassionate
• Team player
• Strong communicator

Nice To Haves

• Current DEA License
• USDA Accreditation

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care for small animals and some exotic pets.
• Perform laser therapy.
• Manage hospitalized patients.
• Conduct bloodwork using an Abaxis blood machine.
• Perform emergency surgeries.
