Vetco Relief Veterinarian - Hemet, CA

Vetco Clinics•Hemet, CA
•$136 - $170•Onsite

About The Position

Petco Veterinary Services offers relief veterinarians shifts at Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospitals. Vaccination clinics provide basic wellness checks, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and microchip placement; they do not provide surgery, emergency, or illness care. Most are located in Petco stores, with some operating from mobile van units. Vetco Total Care hospitals provide preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Hospital equipment includes digital dental X-rays, Butterfly IQ+ Vet ultrasound imaging, and surgery suites with heated hydraulic tables and full anesthesia monitoring. Hospital staff are licensed and trained, and there are no overnight or emergency on-call shifts. Relief veterinarians can schedule shifts online, choose from weekday and weekend hours, and set their own rate for each shift. There is no minimum or maximum shift requirement, and veterinarians may continue other practice activities outside Petco shifts. Petco uses an appointment-based model, with trained staff handling clinic operations so veterinarians can focus on patient care. The role includes access to a monthly newsletter with clinic news, policy updates, and product announcements, and a 15% discount on Petco products and services. California state bid rates average $136–$170 per hour; rates may vary by clinic location and shift duration.
