About The Position

The Relief Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with a focus on advancing patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist fills prescriptions safely and accurately, supports patients and team members, and may be responsible for pharmacy operations when the pharmacist in charge is absent. The role also performs and oversees clinical services, including immunizations where allowed. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
CPR certification.
Retail or community practice experience.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results appropriately and effectively, while helping expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with Meijer policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
Take responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
