About The Position

The Relief Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with an emphasis on advancing patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist fills prescriptions safely and accurately, provides and oversees clinical services including immunizations where permitted, and may be responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge. The role also supports, mentors, and motivates pharmacy technicians and maintains effective relationships with patients, team members, and leadership. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
CPR certification.
Retail or community pharmacy practice experience.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
Help expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Be competent and knowledgeable about Meijer policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, be responsible for pharmacy operations.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
