About The Position

This position practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The pharmacist is patient-directed and clinically oriented, contributing to the development of Meijer Pharmacy's patient care. The role includes filling prescriptions, supporting and mentoring pharmacy technicians, maintaining positive relationships, providing customer service, and performing or overseeing clinical services such as immunizations. When the pharmacist in charge is absent, the Relief Pharmacist is responsible for pharmacy operations.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
CPR certification.
Retail or community pharmacy practice experience.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results appropriately and effectively, and help expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform at their highest level.
Know and follow Meijer policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
Take responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
