About The Position
CMHA-CEI is seeking a Relief LPN for the Adult Mental Health/Bridges Unit in Lansing, Michigan. This position offers a $3.35 Stipend Tier Pay for working in the BCU. CMHA-CEI is a Michigan Certified Bronze Level Veteran Friendly Employer and encourages applications from military service members, veterans, and their families.
Requirements
- Possession of a certificate from an accredited practical nursing education program (one year college-level program).
- Possession of a State of Michigan credential.
- A minimum of one year of experience in nursing with the mentally ill and/or developmentally disabled population.
- Competent computer skills in database programs and word processing.
- Access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily nursing care for patients at Bridges under the direction of the Coordinator and clinical direction of the Program’s Physician.
- Conduct telephone screens/intakes and admissions.
- Perform nursing health assessments.
- Administer TB tests and medications as prescribed by the physician or in keeping with physician’s standing orders.
- Read/record patient information and communicate with the Physician as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and schedule admission appointments.
- Complete nursing progress notes.
- Perform routine cleaning of the facility, laundry, and simple meals.
- Carry out all activities of the program/sub-unit in a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.
