About The Position

This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or $4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency, provided upon completion of a probationary period. There is a $3.35 Stipend Tier Pay for working in the BCU and shift incentives of + $1.25/hour for hours worked between 5pm – 12am and + $3/hour for weekends worked from Friday 5pm to Monday 8am. Requirements

  • Possession of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Possession of a State of Michigan license as a Registered Nurse required.
  • One-year experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with a person who has a mental illness required.
  • Possession of First Aid and CPR Certification required.
  • Must demonstrate competent computer skills in data base programs and word processing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is required.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use is required.
  • Offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history.
  • Must pass pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a staff nurse under the supervision of a Supervisor/Coordinator, performing a variety of duties depending on the area of assignment.
  • May be responsible for the orderly administration and maintenance of medication, which involves administering prescribed drugs.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary planning of care and treatment, ensuring the coordination of medical services to consumers served by the program.
  • May render general nursing care and provide medical support in accordance with approved nursing practices.
  • Provides information and assistance specific to the area of assignment.
  • Performs admissions and screening on new consumers.
  • Serves as agency liaison.
  • Performs crisis intervention activities.
  • Provides patient education.
  • Carries out all activities of the program/sub-unit in a manner that fulfills CMHA’s mission, policies, and procedures.
