About The Position
This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or 4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency! This bonus will be provided upon completion of a probationary period. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of an AMHS Supervisor, will provide nursing services for adults with a variety of mental health diagnoses. Will function as a Float Nurse to assist AMHS teams as needed. This includes completing assessments for adults with serious mental illness, providing referrals to community agencies, providing crisis services, case management and coordinating hospital discharge functions. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, providing for the orderly administration and maintenance of medication which involves administering prescribed drugs, extensive documentation, coordination of medical service to consumers served by the program, providing general care and medical support in accordance with approved nursing practices. Works closely with team Psychiatrists as well as team members. Will work with AMHS Healthcare Integration projects and manage data and outcomes. Will provide consultation with primary care physicians/community resources. Will assist with providing staff training as needed. Requirements: Possession of an Associate’s degree or a diploma in Nursing required. Possession of a State of Michigan license as a Registered Nurse required. One year of nursing experience required. Possession of First Aid and CPR Certification required. At least one year of work experience serving adults with co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance abuse) and serious mental illness preferred. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation for job related use required. Familiarity with computers required. Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Requirements
