About The Position

This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or $4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency! This bonus will be provided upon completion of a probationary period. Applicable to part-time and full-time staff only. Requirements

  • Possession of an associate’s degree or a diploma in Nursing required.
  • One year of professional experience with the assigned population.
  • One year of work experience serving adults with co-occurring disorders and serious mental illness.
  • Possession of a State of Michigan Licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Possession of “Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers” Certification required.
  • Must be able to perform Handle with Care Behavior Management techniques according to approved Agency standards.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license.
  • Access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use required.
  • Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the RN Supervisor, providing integrated behavioral and physical healthcare, including managing medication, assessing and coordinating physical/medical care, and providing direct services within the Crisis Care Center.
  • Responsible for the orderly administration and maintenance of medication both within Crisis Services and the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU).
  • Duties include a variety of supportive services and direct interventions with consumers experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders and Developmental Disabilities who are in crisis, needing stabilization.
  • May render general nursing care and provide medical support in accordance with approved nursing practices.
  • Providing information and assistance specific to the area of assignment.
  • Performing admissions screening on new consumers.
  • Serving as agency liaison.
  • Performing crisis intervention activities.
  • Providing case management.
  • Providing patient education.
  • Supporting all programs within the Crisis Care Center.
  • Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
