About The Position

Community Interface Services is seeking a compassionate and flexible Relief Caregiver to support people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in growing their independence. Caregivers work in clients’ homes through the Supported Living program and provide personalized, one-on-one support. The role offers starting pay of $20–$21 per hour, with opportunities for pay increases, and training is provided to help caregivers succeed. The position may suit someone seeking to balance work with personal commitments.

Requirements

• Have a working vehicle, a California Driver’s License, a safe driving record, and at least two years of driving experience.
• Have a solid work history and references who can attest to dependability.
• Be able to lift and push a wheelchair.
• Be reliable and have excellent communication skills.
• Be able to maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate support.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily, personalized one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in their homes.
• Assist with personal care and other daily tasks.
• Schedule and follow up on doctors’ appointments.
• Shop for groceries and prepare meals.
• Help clients access the community, including by using public transportation.
• Provide compassionate support while respecting clients’ voices, needs, and independence.
• Maintain professional boundaries and build trust through effective communication.
