About The Position

LALA US manufactures Yogurt Smoothies with probiotics, Crema Mexicana and Blended Yogurt. The facility provides a clean work environment, well-lit, highly automated production facility and career advancement opportunities. The Reliability Superintendent is a key management position responsible for driving the optimization of all operational processes that exist in the facility. This person’s focus will be on improving efficiency, training, quality, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction within all aspects of the operation. The Superintendent would be a 1st shift position, but this leader must be willing to help drive initiatives over all three shifts.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in progressively challenging leadership roles in food manufacturing
  • High speed packaging equipment management experience
  • Knowledge of and working experience with SAP enterprise software system.
  • Microsoft Office advanced skills

Nice To Haves

  • Dairy plant, bottling, canning experience preferred; yogurt processing experience a plus.
  • Six Sigma Certification (Yellow, Green, or Black Belt preferred)
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP/SQF a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the streamlining of processes and improve business performance.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, develop solutions and implantation plans with the management team.
  • Focus on statistical tools and analysis techniques to improve processes within an organization.
  • Improving the engagement and effectiveness of the training program.
  • Responsible for developing plant performance data for the purpose of prioritizing and implementing the plant improvement efforts.
  • Organize and lead RCA & Kaizen problem solving events.
  • Continuous promotion of plant safety, proving leadership to ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures, programs and practices.
  • Collaborate with shift superintendents and managers to ensure clear direction and accountability for implanting process improvement plans in the facility.
  • Foster participation of the workforce to enhance awareness and cooperation. Provide leadership for personal and professional growth to Production Supervisors, Process Leaders and line-associates. Provide measured balance of data/people management skills. Maintain communication in an approachable, hands-on, supportive role.
  • Train employees on Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Lead root cause investigations using methodologies such as: 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram (Ishikawa), DMAIC
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage cost reduction and productivity improvement projects
