About The Position

Responsible for the supervision and development of Production Supervisors in the assigned area, ensuring accountability for safety, food safety, cost, and productivity. This role involves planning production schedules, managing staffing, overseeing special projects, and ensuring compliance with all corporate and plant policies, including food safety and GMP standards. The Production Superintendent will also be on call for emergencies and must identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations related to product safety and security.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop Production Supervisors in the assigned area.
  • Confirm payroll records for production employees.
  • Maintain and be accountable for safety, food safety, cost, and productivity of the assigned area.
  • Be accountable for results across all areas of responsibility.
  • Be on call as required in case of emergency.
  • Oversee special projects, start-ups, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plan production schedules and staffing requirements.
  • Perform various special tasks as assigned by the Shift Manager.
  • Comply with all written corporate and plant policies.
  • Ensure plant compliance in food safety and assist in the upkeep of the complex grounds.
  • Comply with all written corporate safety and plant policies.
  • Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
  • Follow the written specification for packaging and labeling of products.
  • Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to the plant manager, including product tampering, willful product adulteration, unauthorized employees in restricted areas, or situations where product adulteration or equipment malfunction may put product wholesomeness at stake.
