About The Position

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a talented Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Scheduler for a bid proposal for a large healthcare government healthcare facilities at Fort Bragg NC . The Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing maintenance schedules for hospital infrastructure assets using reliability centered maintenance principles. This role ensures that planned maintenance work is scheduled efficiently, coordinated with clinical operations, and executed in a manner that minimizes risk to patient care, staff, and hospital operations. The RCM Scheduler works closely with planners, reliability staff, technicians, and clinical stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities are performed at the right time, with the right resources, and in alignment with regulatory and reliability requirements. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance scheduling, maintenance coordination, or facilities operations.
  • Experience in healthcare facilities, critical infrastructure, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concepts and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms for scheduling, labor coordination, and work order management.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand maintenance priorities related to system criticality and patient safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare or hospital facilities experience.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission, NFPA, and Environment of Care requirements.
  • Exposure to predictive maintenance (PdM) programs and condition based maintenance.
  • Experience coordinating work in occupied, 24/7 operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, and long range maintenance schedules for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Schedule work in alignment with asset criticality, RCM strategies, and PdM recommendations.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with clinical departments to minimize disruption to patient care and hospital operations.
  • Balance available labor, skill sets, system access windows, and operational constraints when building schedules.
  • Support execution of RCM based maintenance programs by ensuring work is scheduled according to risk, condition, and priority.
  • Incorporate reliability data, condition monitoring findings, and failure history into schedule prioritization.
  • Ensure critical infrastructure systems receive timely maintenance consistent with risk and compliance requirements.
  • Support backlog management and work prioritization efforts.
  • Schedule maintenance activities for critical hospital systems, including: o HVAC and environmental control systems o Electrical distribution and essential electrical systems (EPSS) o Medical gas and vacuum systems o Plumbing, steam, and chilled water systems o Life safety and fire protection systems o Critical utilities supporting ORs, ICUs, imaging, and data centers
  • Ensure scheduling reflects patient safety, system redundancy, and regulatory constraints.
  • Maintain accurate schedules, work order statuses, and labor assignments within the CMMS.
  • Monitor schedule compliance, identify variances, and communicate execution risks.
  • Ensure scheduled work orders are ready for execution (approved, planned, and resourced).
  • Support reporting of schedule adherence, backlog trends, and maintenance KPIs.
  • Schedule required inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance tasks to meet Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA, and Environment of Care (EC) requirements.
  • Ensure compliance related work is clearly identified and prioritized in the schedule.
  • Support regulatory surveys and audits by providing scheduling records and compliance tracking information.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination between maintenance teams, reliability staff, planners, contractors, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Communicate schedule changes, system impacts, and access requirements clearly and professionally.
  • Participate in maintenance planning meetings, scheduling reviews, and performance discussions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to schedule effectiveness and work execution.
