About The Position

The Release of Information Specialist (ROIS) initiates the medical record release process by entering data into Verisma Software. The specialist works quickly and carefully to ensure documentation is processed accurately and efficiently. The position is based at a Verisma client site in Phoenix, Arizona, with a hybrid workplace arrangement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of medical record experience.
At least 2 years of experience completing clerical or office work.
Experience using general office equipment, including a desktop computer and scanner, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently.
Attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Some college.
Experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information.

Responsibilities

Process medical release of information (ROI) requests in a timely and efficient manner.
Process requests using Verisma software applications.
Support the resolution of HIPAA-related release issues.
Organize records and documents to complete the ROI process.
Read and interpret medical records, forms, and authorizations.
Provide exemplary customer service in person, by phone, and via email, depending on location requirements.
Interact with customers and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner.
Use Verisma-provided reference materials to ensure compliance and maintain confidentiality.
Attend training sessions as required.
Live by and promote Verisma company values.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department and company.
