In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair protective relays and related equipment, working alongside a skilled team of technicians. Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in the construction and/or maintenance of power substation protection, diagnostic, monitoring and/or control systems or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience
  • Driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Commissioning and maintaining protective devices in electric transmission substations operating above 100kV.
  • Proficiency with electro-mechanical and microprocessor-based protective relays.
  • Experience using Doble F6150 test sets and Enoserv RTS testing software.
  • Strong PC skills.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and systems.
  • Install, maintain, and test protective relays as well as other electrical equipment.
  • Provide technical support to other LCRA employees and customers.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of electrical protection testing principles and practices.
  • Work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Mentor and train less experienced technicians.
