Relay Maintenance Engineer
About The Position
The Relay Maintenance Engineer provides technical support to relay maintenance personnel on maintenance problems. This role involves reviewing and investigating system operations to determine necessary corrective actions, coordinating the testing program to ensure PM tasks are completed as required by internal and external requirements, and providing support to relay maintenance personnel for the commissioning and checkout of new relay systems and equipment. The engineer will also prepare minor design changes to settings or systems as needed to support ongoing system operation and support the maintenance and replacement of communication devices such as RTUs and DFRs throughout the state.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
- Two or more years of utility experience with specific knowledge of protective relaying or substation and power plant control schemes preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows-based software such as Access and Excel preferred.
- Good analytical, decision-making, communication, and human relations skills.
