We are recruiting for a Relationship Marketing Specialist. This position will assist with increasing our brand awareness through implementation of marketing plans and represent the organization through regular face-to-face contact with the public. The position is based in the southwestern region of Virginia including Roanoke, Blacksburg, Bristol, and surrounding areas. In this position, you will: Coordinate and conduct exhibit tables, media interviews, presentations and webinars for a wide range of audiences and topics Develop content and segment messaging to reach a broad audience across marketing channels such as sponsorships, events, and webinars Serve as lead for medium and large projects and events including planning, tracking, adjusting execution based on audience and ensuring appropriate materials are available and deadlines are met Coordinate vendor logistics and assign areas of responsibility to enhance the agency’s presence and fully maximize partnerships Identify and recommend new partnerships and negotiate contracts with marketing partners in conjunction with the Marketing & Communications Director

Requirements

  • A home base in the southwestern region of Virginia including Roanoke, Blacksburg, Bristol, and surrounding area with familiarity with the local communities
  • Willingness and ability to work and travel frequently throughout the southwestern region of Virginia with occasional travel required across the state to include our main office location in North Chesterfield
  • 5+ years’ experience in public relations, marketing, communications
  • Experience managing small to mid-sized marketing projects with deadlines
  • Experience developing marketing plans and drafting complex communications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to large, diverse audiences in person or electronically
  • Ability to independently prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of social media measurement and analytics tools
  • Ability to work effectively within a marketing team and cross-functionally with other divisions and department
  • Ability to proofread, maintain brand consistency and ensure high quality work
  • Ability to solve problems creatively
  • Knowledge of basic marketing concepts, strategies and tactics
  • Understanding of content strategy, writing marketing content and design basics
