Relationship Banker/Universal Banker
About The Position
Providence Bank & Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Relationship Banker to join its Retail Team in Schererville, Indiana. The role focuses on enhancing customer relationships through excellent customer service and addressing customers’ financial needs. In this dual role, the Relationship Banker handles financial transactions and opens accounts for individual and business clients, identifies opportunities to support the bank’s strategy, and refers customers to business partners. The position supports relationship-building efforts and contributes to overall branch operations. Lobby and drive-up hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., and Saturday, 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The schedule may vary according to business needs, and the employee must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes Saturdays. Hours are subject to change to meet business needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- One year of job-related experience, preferably in a banking, sales, or customer service environment.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
Nice To Haves

- Effective customer relationship-building skills, including the ability to sell, cross-sell, and refer products.
- Basic knowledge of retail products, policies and procedures, documentation, and systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Support relationship-building efforts within the branch.
- Contribute to overall branch operations.
- Provide excellent customer service while servicing customers’ financial needs.
- Handle financial transactions and open new accounts for individual and business clients.
- Engage with customers to identify opportunities that support the bank’s strategy and meet their financial needs.
- Refer customers to business partners.
