About The Position

Responsible for providing an industry-leading client service experience in person and by phone through developing and expanding new and existing client relationships. Provides financial solutions based on consultative conversations and refers clients to other business partners for additional growth opportunities. The banker will be cross-trained to perform teller duties as needed.

The role handles client maintenance requests, problem resolution, and sales involving deposit, credit, convenience, and other products and services. It contributes to individual and branch service and sales targets, supports the team sales process, advises clients on consumer lending options, and takes loan applications. The banker also follows internal controls and risk policies, keeps current with policy and procedure changes, and helps clients navigate the branch while delivering a courteous service experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• At least 2 years of client sales and service experience.
• Experience sourcing and prospecting for new clients and building client relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to interact with clients and prospects.
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
• Must be SAFE (Mortgage Licensing Act) compliant within 30 days of employment, including applicable registration and NMLS background check requirements, and meet ongoing regulatory requirements.
• Ability to multitask under time constraints.
• Ability to travel as needed to accommodate temporary staffing needs, including temporary assignment or locale changes.
• Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours; occasional travel and overnight stays may be included.

Responsibilities

• Handle routine client maintenance requests and resolve problems; perform sales functions involving deposit, credit, convenience, and other products and services.
• Contribute to client service and individual and branch sales targets by offering products and services and developing, expanding, and retaining relationships.
• Conduct consultative conversations and act on or refer complex client needs and financial goals to internal specialists.
• Participate in Truist Retail Community Bank Leadership Routines.
• Develop knowledge of sales techniques and products by attending meetings, training classes, and web-based learning.
• Advise clients on consumer lending options and take loan applications.
• Follow internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies; stay informed of policy and procedure changes.
• Engage clients in courteous conversation, conduct transactions, uncover needs, perform teller transactions as needed, and help clients navigate the branch.
