About The Position

The Relationship Banker I provides an exceptional customer experience in person on the cash line and by phone, while helping improve customers’ financial wellness. The role builds personal connections during transactions, identifies ways to meet customer needs, and helps resolve end-to-end service inquiries. It is suited to candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who want to develop a banking career.

The successful candidate is ambitious and adaptable, communicates effectively, and helps customers understand the ways they can bank. The position works as part of the branch team, supports branch goals, and follows applicable banking procedures and regulations. It is full-time and incentive eligible, with overtime eligibility under the Fair Labor Standards Act for hours worked in excess of 40 per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
• Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
• Ability to communicate in person, by phone, and through electronic channels.
• Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and maintaining sustained attention to a monitor.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to oversee large sums of cash.
• Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of banking, cash-handling, and/or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a consistent, optimal customer experience on the cash line while processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other typical teller transactions.
• Answer customer questions about products and services and fulfill basic servicing requests, including card requests, information changes, PIN resets, check reorders, and basic problem resolution.
• Develop customer relationships and stay informed about customers’ relationships with the bank.
• Educate customers about standard consumer products and digital banking options, including mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
• Assist branch colleagues with basic tasks to help resolve customer problems.
• Refer customers to internal experts when more complex financial goals and needs are identified.
• Follow bank processes and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, including duties assigned by the Branch Manager; identify, manage, and report operational risks.
• Help achieve branch targets and goals by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate guidance about Regions’ solutions.
• May make outbound calls to customers and prospects from generated lead lists to educate them about emerging technology and assist with their financial needs.
