About The Position

Guy Carpenter is seeking individuals with reinsurance contract drafting experience to join our expanding North American Contracts Team. The specific role and title (Contract Associate, Senior Contract Associate, Senior Contract Specialist, Assistant Vice President, Vice President, or Senior Vice President) will depend on the candidate's level of experience. The company offers a hybrid work schedule in New York, NY, Edina, MN, Seattle, WA, and Philadelphia, PA, with consideration for other US-based locations. Remote work is an option for candidates with significant reinsurance experience. Requirements

2+ years of reinsurance experience.
Bachelor’s degree or experience in a relevant field.
Strong communication and negotiation skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to independently manage and prioritize tasks.
Attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation and/or law degree.
Knowledge of contract law, contract provisions, reinsurance concepts and principles, basic regulatory controls, and general business trends.

Responsibilities

Manage the complete lifecycle of a reinsurance contract for assigned accounts, including drafting contract language to reflect negotiation intent, initiating contract transmittal, and coordinating the execution of final documentation.
Build relationships with reinsurance brokers and clients and answer contract-related inquiries.
Provide reinsurance contract analysis independently or in collaboration with the Global Contract Consultant team, including training on and access to Guy Carpenter’s AI-assisted contract analysis tool.
Support team development by mentoring and facilitating colleagues new to the industry through the Contract Drafter Academy.
Lead and/or collaborate on projects for the Contracts Team, including creating and presenting training on reinsurance industry topics, and developing workflow tools for efficiency and accuracy.
